Early this morning a burglar entered the residence of Mrs Blanclford, High otreel, arousing the inmates;- Mr Errington, linotype engineer at th.? ''fUr Office, went for the burglar wit h a club, felling him after a struggle. Subsequently the man was identified as Walter Goodman; who arrived at Wellington by the Opoura hailing from Liverpool. He Was unconscious several hours after being felled. On him were found a watch and chain, some nuggets, foar sovereigns, and a quantity of BiUer.
