TRADING S TAMPS.

THE ACT TO BE AMENDED. A Bill to amend the Trading Stamps Abolition Bill of last session is being introduced by the Government, that Ace. it has been found, while doing all that was required of ifc in abolishing the Trading Stamp Company, it does not. meet a new state of things that has arisen 'ince then, viz., the issue of trading stamps by traders themselves. The Act merely prohibits the issue of trading stamp 3 " which enable the holder th9reof to demand and receive from any trading stamp company any money or goods." This is got over by traders issuing- trading stamps which they themselves redeem, and it is with the object of putting a stop to this practice, and al*o presumably of increasing the demand for. the Government discount stamp, that the amending Bill is being introduced.
