DOVEDME. ROAD BOARD. The Board met on 17th July, all ihe members except Mr E. Win being present. j The minutes of the Lst meeting were confirmed. The Secretary was in tructed to wiile to the Wain ea County Council asking when the Government grant of ■£100 i, for improving the Doxedale side of the hill leadiug to the Moutere) is .o be spent, that part of the road being in a disgraceful state, whilst the other side of he hill is being continually improved, and the Council having received authority to spend the grant in December, 1899 j No attempt having been made so tar to get .he work done, and great complaints boing made regarding th« road, the secretary was instmcted as above. It was resolved to bupply the press with a precis of the business done ai the Board's meeting. A request was received from Mr Loveridge tv make a piotection where ihe riv ( r is eating dangerously clobo to the ro d, he offering to bear half the i expense. The request waa not euterj tamed. Warrants were signed for £16 i 10s 7d, D T thirds. The meeting theu adjourned until Aug. 21.
