ARRANGEMENTS FOR DEPARTURE. . CHRISTCHURCH, February 13. The Lyttleton Demonstration Committee had an interview with Colonel Penton to-day in reference to the proceedings at the Port on Saturday on the occasion of the departure of the RoughRiders equipped by Canterbury. Ifc°is understood that the arrangements will probably be as follows : The contingent will arrive at Lyttelton by train about 1 p.m., 'aud will proceed at once to the Drill Shed for luncheon. After luncheon tho members will be allowed an hour in which to bid farewell to their friends. At 3 p.m. tho local and visiting volunteers will form up outside the Drill Shed and march, preceding the contingent, to No 7 wharf whore the contingent will embark on the ss. Knight Templar. No person will be permitted to remain on the wharf but the military and those taking part in tho official farewell ceremony. The steamer will leave the wharf at 3 p.m. sharp. Replies to invitation to bo present at the " send-off " to the contingent have been received from the Mayors of the following places accepting : —The Mayors of Ashburton, Hokitika, Onslow, Wellington, Timaru, Bangiora Napier, Melrose, and AVoodville. Those who have signified that they will be unable;, to ;be present are the Mayors of Patea, Auckland, Birkenhead, Foxton, Mataura, Greymouth, Oamarn, Hawera, Queenstowu, and Cambridge -.r s „ BLENHEIM, This Day.
