In Represenattive session, Dr Jforley moved that a recommendation be made to the Ministerial session to confirm the appointment of the Rev C. 11. Garland as Secretary of the Century Commemoration Fund. The Rev. Mr Bull moved an amendmen:) that Mr Garland be appointed to a circuit with an assistant probationer. The amendment was lost by 70 to 27, Tho Executive Committee of the Fund was loc.i'-i in Christchurch, an amendment; In favour of Wellington being lost by a large majority, This evening the report of the Coinlmttee appointed to deal wilh the fire insurance scheme was presented. The Committee reported hat having received guarantees amounting tn £Hi"iGo, and promise* amounting to" i'l-00, with £2000 guiivante-jd by the loan fund, the Committee gives the total as .£la,2tiO. It is proposed to locate a Committee to manage the fund in Christchurch. The report was discussed in Committee, and two clauses of the rules and regulations were referred back to the Committee to brin» up a final report a, .soon as possible, °
