The New South Wales Premier.
Farewell Banquet at Sydney. The Prospects of Federation. Sydney, This Day. Mr G. H, Keid, the Premier, was entertained at a banquet last night, prior to his departure for England to attend the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, Refeiring to federation, he said he hoped that the eeeond Convention would so alter the Federal Bill as to enable the population of the colony to accept it. He added that he would spare no pains to personally press on such a result, because they must all feci the closing in a ound them of a destiny from which they ought not to wish to escape.
