The reef has greatly increased in siz«, the winze being all on clean stone and no sign of tbe hangiug wall. There is no change ia the qnality of the stone. lam cleaning the paddock out so as to keep the present stono separate and am sending it to the Alpine battery to be crushed ; but as the greater part of the stone waa taken from tbo north winze I don't expect it to pay much more than the expense of carting and crushing. The Alpine Manager reports for the week :— The No 9 level bas been extended a distance of 0 feet. The reef averages 4 feet wide , dnring the last few . feet of driving it has been rather mullocky, but there nre indications of improvement. It contains fair gold.
