ST. MARY'S BAZAAR.
There was a large crowd in the Pro viucial Hall yesterday evening at tlu opening of the St Mary's Bazaar. The Very Rev Rev Father Jlahoncy asked the Mayor to dei'laic the Bazaar open, and alluded to tho well known charity and generosity of His Worship. The Mayor said that it gave him much pleasure to be present and to see so many ncople. He and Father Mahoney hail long been fast friends, and he hoped that they would remain so, and he accepted as sincere the kind words spoken regarding himself. It gave him great pleasure toattentl at the invitation of tbe Reverend Mother, the Lady Superior of the Convent, as few outside St Mary's congregation' knew more than he did of the good work being done by the ladies of the Convent, Tho money to bo raised by the Bazaar was to be applied to the fund for the new wing for the Orphanage for little boys, and be asked bis hearers to be as liberal as they could afford. His Worship then deolared tbe Bazaar open, The business of the evoning was begun by tbe Mayor, who gave five shillings to each of four stallholders, and tho takings were very fair, amounting for the evening to £33. During the evening tho Stoko Orphanngo Brass Band, under Mr H. Leaper, played very well The dance was vory preUy, and all present seemed to enjoy themselves. The Bazaar is again open this afternoon, and will be so in the evening. It will also be open to-morrow and Saturday. It will be noticed that an alleralion has been made in the prices of admission which are now :— Od for to-nitiht ; Od tomorrow afternoon, tlie same ticket giving admission during the evening. On Saturday one shilling will be charged.
