THE NEW PARLIAMENT.

TO THE EDITOB OF THE "EVENING MAIL.'> " Sir, — In view of the general election which will in all probability take place about the month of November, I would ask electors not to hurriedly pledge themselves to any particular candidate or party until they have had the opportunity of heanng the views of the Opposition. Such an opportunity I am pleased to believe, will shortly he afforded them when the Hon. Mr Kolleston or some prominent member of the Opposition will address the electors of this city. We have been almost surfeited with Ministerial addresses, the burden of the songs heing the immaculate administration of the present holders of office and their true anxiety for " the fioor working man." This anxiety for the abouring classes and the liberalism of the present Government invariably becomes accentuated upon the eve of an election, hut notwithstanding the oft-repeated creed of the existing administration I venture to think that for " true Liberals " we shall have to search the lanks of the Opposition. I am, &c, A. T. Maginnity.
