WELLINGTON, August 16. The Racing Conference sat yesterday until near midnight, Oaptain Russell beiog Chairman. The important question of establishment of a New Zealand Juckey Club was con-, sidered, and it was resolved that the constitutions of the New Zealand Jockey Club be submitted to the next meeting of tho con... ference, date to be fixed by the chairman. The objects of the club are to use its influence in the promotion and improvement of racing in the Colony without interfering with the magagement of metropolitan clubs. The offices of the club are to be situated in Wellington, and the stewards shall be nineteen in number elected annually in June, three each by the metropolitan clubs of Aucks laud, Canterbury, and Dunedin, two each by Wellington, Hawke's Bay, and Wanganui, and one eaoh by Taranaki, Nelson, Marlborough, and Greymouth. The annual meeting is fixed not later than the last week in July, after which duly elected stewards take office. The stewards are to appoint from amongst their number a president, a vice president, and treasurer, Clause:) are provided for the appointment of seoreta; y and his duties, which are not beyond those of secretaries of racing clubs. No disqualification for a longer period than twelve months shall be finally imposed, or having been imposed be remitted without the sauotion of the Stewards. The boundaries of Nelson, Canterbury, and Greymouth were revised for insertion in Rule No. 1.
