Timaru Harbor Board.
Timabu, September 19. At the Harbor Board to-day the Finance Committee reported that at the end of the J year there would be a deficiency in the •• accounts of £2,450, and the Board agreed to j Btrike a harbor rate of one-eighth of a penny. At the end of the year they will have a balance of £6,900 of loan money, and this ia to be kept for contingencies, Bhiffcing shingle for instance. The Engineer was instructed to bring up plans and estimates of the cost of dealing with the annual drift of Bbingle. Four of the nine members urged that there would ba no necesssity to spend a penny for a long time to come.
