Wellington, October 11. A return presented by the Chamber of Commerce shows an excess of emigration from Nevy Zealand over immigration since the beginning of the year to be no Jess than 8310 persons.

A. notice in. the Qazrttc deslarcs ihe Auckland sheep district to be a clean sheep district ; and the Miranda sheep district and the Waikato district to be infected sheep districts, under the Sheep Act of 1878.

A return of immigration to, and emigra tion from the colony for September show the arrivals to be 831, while the departures were 1962. Of the latter 1129 left for Victoria, and 549 lor New South Wales.
