(From our own Correspondent.) Mr. Grwmond. The member for Hofeitika, Mr Joseph Gritnmond, was an early arriyaj on jbho W^t Coast at tbe time of the first rush o a the Coast. He es'ablishetl a saw mill at Ross, and afterwards proceeded to the new rush at Beef ton, where be was engaged in saw milling, and he is in business at Ross in the same line at tbe present time. He has been Mayor of RO9S three times, and for many years hßs been a prominent, member of the We&tland County Council, being (Chairman last year. He is also associated with other local bodies, Be is not a fluent speaker, but is possessed of good common, seuse, and is a splendid man on Committee work.
