The following cases were heard in the Resident Magistrate's Court to-day. Henry Walker was find 10s. and costs for drunkenness. Henry OsAvald was complained against for committing a violent assault on his Avife, yesterday. It appeared that he struck her with some Aveapon, in the back part of the head. Dr. Vickerman, having been called, said the woman was in a very dangerous state, in consequence of which she was removed to the hospital. The defendant was remanded till the state of the woman could be ascertained. The case of Kelling v.
