THE FUNERAL.
The funeral of poor Jemmy took place this afternoon in the New Cemetery. At 2 o'clock the procession left the Government Buildings. The body was conveyed in a hearse provided by Messrs. Parmenter & Amos. It was escorted by a body of police, under the command of Sergeant Nash and Sergeant Edwards. A large number of the Volunteer Search Party, headed by Mr. Saxton, followed in the procession. Mr. Jervis was chief mourner. The Search Committee, in two carriages, closed the procession. A considerable number of spectators watched the mournful spectacle. The Key. G. 11. Johnstone officiated at the interment.
