On the occasion of the recent visit of the Rev. J. Copeland, of the New Hebrides Mission, some of the members of St. Paul's Presbyterian congregation, Christchurch, subscribed the sum of £45, to be paid upj by annual instalments, for the ship Day Spring, engaged in carrying provisions, etc., for the missionaries, and taking the missionaries from one place to another ; also two of the members undertook' to pay annually, for an indefinite period, the salary of one native teacher, and the children of the Sabbath school gave Mr. Copeland, from the proceeds of their missionary box, three pounds towards th e'.funds of this important mission. The Express writes in a con .amove style, in Reference to sausages :— T^e : lovers of a •goo<_ sausage to breakfast will, i&^f^irrej.'b^ enabled to procure them, as one of our enterprising butchers has erected;- a machine, the lite of " which, he says.; has never been seen before in Marlborough. We went out last •night to discover the cause of a great noise like that produced by a steam engine, and found it was ,. produced by this machine, which is really of an uncommon size. It has been imported by Messrs. RobinsoD, Bros.
