In Pennsylvania, at Pittsburg, a woman, named Grinder, who has been characterised as "the American Borgia," was recently sentenced to death for murder, by poisoning, of a friend, a much esteemed member of the church to which Grinder professed to have attached herself. This woman is suspected of the murder of seventeen persons, all ot whom aiea •mysteriously while undergoing her attentions as nurse, and indictments for the murder of fourteen persons have been made out against her.
