VICTORIA.
The news by the Albion, gives some hope, "though but slight, that the dispute betweeu the Assembly and the Council .may yet be settled. Mr. Fellows, having failed to form an administration, the Government is now beiug carried on by McCulloch, and .his colleagues, they having been requested by the Governor to resume office, they did so provisionally ; they have undertaken to send the tariff once more to the Council, in the hope that under the altered circumstances, that body may be induced to yield. On Thursday night, March 29, the Government attempted by making some alterations iv tho Bill to pass it in oue sitting, but Captain. McMahon objected, asserted that he represented iv the Assembly, the .views and wishes of the Council. The Assembly then adjourned until the 4th instaut. Meanwhile the Public Servants are unpaid, although the Treasury is full. Mr. George, the printer of the Argus, is still in prison.
