FANCY DRESS PARTY.

Rangiora District School ! ■: /'v-.v' ( A CROWDED ASSEMBLY. A great deal of hard work by the staff must have preceded the fancy dress party held Jast ( evening in the Parish Hall. Even the collection of prizes must have taken a great deal of time and thought, though that, task was lightened by the generosity of the large number of people, especially people in business, in responding to the Committee’s appeal. Gifts were received from the Mayor, Mrs. Barton, Mrs. R. F. Watson, Lane’s, Redfern’s, F. T. Ager, Hawkins and Co., Bridget and Son, Hickmott Bros., R. Smith, Reed’s Electric Cake Kitchen, C. At the conclusion of the ball the Chairman of the School Committee, Mr C. J. Smith, moved a - hearty vote of thanks to all those who had assisted with gifts, to Mrs. Glasgow and Mrs. Hughes, who had acted as judges, to Dawson’s Dance Band for supplying free music, to the girl guides who did the waiting, and especially to the statt and to Mrs. J. T. O. Stephens who had gone to such trouble to collect the prizes.
