MONTHLY MEETING. Mrs. J. W. Barnard (Vice-President) presided at the monthly meeting of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union. Apologies for absence were receKed from Mrs Burnet, Miss Evans, and Mrs. Heald. Votes of sympathy Avith Mrs. J. Taylor, Mrs. S. Taylor, and Mr. Baker Avere passed. The temperance fact is: If avc were asked Avhat is the most important single requisite to success in any reform, Ave should say, it is to have in every village, town, and city, a group of c ourageous, trustworthy and well drilled workers.—Frances E. Willard. The secretary . reported . that there Avere about twenty entrants for the scientific examination. An address Avas given by Mrs. McKechnie, of Rangiora, on T. E. Taylor. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the speaker, and the meeting closed with the Temperance Doxology and the Benediction.
