HOCKEY.
$ LADIES’ PHYSICAL CULTURE CLUB. This year the Club has run three teams in the Christchurch competitions, the Senior A team, the Senior B' team, and, a Junior A team. On the whole the club has had a successful year, but has been sadly inconvenienced by the loss of Miss Parsons, who for some, time has coached the three teams, and has now, left the district. The year has been free or practically free of injuries, and all the girls have derived benefit from their sport. Of the three teams, the Senior A team is leading, with Technical in its grade and has, on the play off, every chance of bringing the honour of winning the competition, home to Rangiora. ‘
Senior B Team!. The Senior B team has been dogged by misfortune all the year, first one girl and then another either leaving the district or being unable to play. This team, too, has suffered through the A team’s taking its strongest players from time to time, so' that for scarcely two Saturdays running in the season the team has been able to field the same players. The Junior team, is composed of young and unseasoned players who will in a few years’ time be playing good hockey and will probably form a strong Senior A team. It might have been wise to drop down a grade in this competition, and to have played this team in the Junior B competition, where it would probably have held its own. On the year’s play the Club should have a strong senior team next year. KAIAPOI CLUB.
The members of the team chosen to play against Selwyn to-morrow are: H. Green, J. Anderson, S. Cosgrove, L. Chapman, A. Green, T. Stark, F. Hammer, G. Chapman, M. Lilloy, R. Kendall. C. Josepbson. Emergencies: L. Kendal! and D. Burney.
