Offer To Hand Over Jewels
CASABLANCA, Tliu. (11 a.m.) An offer to hand over the Begum Aga Khan's stolen jewels in return for the reward otrered by the Begum and insurers was made today in a letter received by the editor of a Moroccar evening newspaper. The letter, which has been handed to the police, was signed with initials. It said the writer had the most important part if the jewels in his possession, and would return them if the reward were paid. “Jf the police make an appointment through your paper, with the assurance asked for, we may be able to come to terms.” the letter said. The Begum's jewels were stolen on August 3 by armed hold-up men, who stopped the Aga Khan’s car in Cannes.
