German Parliament Meets September 1

BERLIN, Fri. (2 p.m.).—Tlie West German state presidents at Frankfurt today fixed September 7 for the first meeting of West Germany’s new parliament which will be elected on August 14. This will mark the beginning of the new West German Federal Republic sponsored by the United States, Britain and France in their occupation zones, with only the Russian zone left outside. It will bo the nearest to an allGermany government since Hitler’s defeat. Members of the German Right (Conservative) Party tonight broke in on a Communist meeting at Brunswick and singing Deutschland Über Alles, tore down Red flags. The principal speaker was the Communist leader (Max Reimann), who vainly tried to address the meeting. Reimann’s supporters, singing the Internationale, claimed with the rightwingers and the police dispersed the meeting. Some arrests were made.
