Northland League Rep. Games
Final selection of the Northland Rugby League senior and junior representative sides will be made by the two selectors, Messrs V. Crump (senior) and G. Dobson (junior) from players in the Maori-Pakeha games to be played at Jubilee Park, Whangarei on Saturday. The senior Maori-Pakeha teams have been announced, and the juniors were chosen last Saturday.
Next week the representative players will be coached in the evening by the senior coach (Mr P. Costello) for the game against the winner of the ' South Auckland-South Huntly game. This fixture is arranged for Saturday, August 13, while the junior representatives will meet an Auckland third-grade team at a later date. The Maori-Pakeha game, and the representative match will be a workout for the big event of the League year—the visit of the Australian League team. Junior representative teams 'are:— Maori: W. Keppa, C. Andrews, H. Simmion, P. Henare, D. Payne, B. Thompson, T. Thompson, S. Williams, B. Mather, P. Daniels, B. Hill, R. Wilson, M. Hetaraka; reserves: W. Hill A. Payne, A. Davies, J. Mitchell, W. Wellington, R. Walker. Pakeha: S. Crump, P. Whitelaw, Joss, T. Whitelaw, Newton, T. Williams, Erceg. A. Campbell, Macken, Leybourn, Donnelly, Crump, Robson, R. Crump, Tunzelman, Papich, Ridings, Doel.
