RSA Has Cars, Baby Sifters Available

At noon today about 30 motorists had offered to put their cars at the disposal of the Whangarei RSA so voters could be taken to polling booths to vote on the compulsory military training issue tomorrow. People requiring transport in these cars may submit their names by ringing 2437 tomorrow, said the secretary of the association (Mr R. G. Russell) today.

By the assistance of the women’s division, the association had made provision for parents with young families to vote. Between 20 and 30 women had volunteered to mind children while the parents were absent at the booths. One of these women would travel in a volunteer’s car to those requiring this transport, and if their services were required, would remain at the house with the children, Mr Russell said.
