Auckland Population Nearing 300,000
AUCKLAND. Mon. (Sp.). Auckland’s urban population is nearing 300,000. According to figures released by tha Government Statistician in Wellington, Auckland's population increased 9100 during the year ended March 31. The urban population was 289,800 at the beginning of the period and 298,900 at the end. Hamilton, seventh in the list of New Zealand cities, has reached the 30,000 mark.
