McDonnell asked for a return to the weekly computation of overtime, double pay on Saturday, a holiday on the day after New Year’s Day, sick leave payments, an increase in the rate provided for skilled workers in the trade, an increase in the rates for female workers, and the provision of protective clothing for employees.
