Emergency Meeting Of ERP Delegates

THE HAGUE, Thu. (11 a.m.)— On Dutch initiative, the chief delegates of the European Recovery Programme countries will hold an emergency meeting in Paris tomorrow to discuss Britain’s increased estimate of her 1949-50 dollar deficit, a European Recovery spokesman said today. Reuters Brussels correspondent says Britain’s request of a higher Marshall Aid allocation produced generally an unfavourable reaction in Belgian financial Circles, who said they found it difficult to understand how Britain could have agreed to the conclusion of the European Economic Cooperation agreement while preparing this bombshell. The figures given on Britain’s dollar deficit showed that the situation was even graver than indicated by Sir Stafford Cripps.
