Russia's Fast Jet Planes

LONDON, Sun. (12.30 p.m.).—The United Press Moscow correspondent says Russia’s jet planes highly impressed foreign observers at a Red Air Force Day parade over Moscow today. However, owing to the terrific speed of the planes observers could not agree on the exact number of new types and improvements which had been made. One of the jets was flown ‘by Lieu-tenant-Colonel Anokhin, who is described by Pravda as an ace jet pilot. The newspaper claims that “Anokhin tests experimental jet models by flying them so fast that they dissolve in the air. He then parachutes to safety.”
