Change In Indian Attitude To British

AUCKLAND, Thu. (P.A.).—‘‘There has been a wonderful change in the attitude of the Indian people toward the British and each other since they secured independence. They never hated the British—only resented British rule.”

. This was stated by Mr J. P. Crozier, a' New Zealand missionary in India for many years, who returned by air today on a short visit, seeking recruits for the Poona and Indian Village Mission.

{ He added that Christianity was spreading in India—he could not speak for Pakistan.

The Government was recognising and helping it. The new Governor of Bombay was a Christian, and several high Government officials were converts. The National Christian Council estimated that conversions numbered 12,000 a month. \\ OBITUARY . . .
