WELLINGTON. Tue. (P.A.)—A decision by the national committee of the Communist Party to contest the general election in more constituencies than previously, was announced in fWellingotn today. The organisation said the decision was made because National Party politicians and “extreme Right Wing Government leaders, with propaganda for rearmament and preparation for a third world war offended the deepest sentiments of the people for peace.” The organisation also accused the Government under the domination of '“extreme Right Wing leaders.” of arresting the advance to higher living standards by conditioning its domestic policy to war preparations. To realise its programme, said the Communist organisation, the main drive would be to defeat the National Party and revive and re-establish the Labour movement on Socialist foundations. The organisation said the National Party would defeat Labour if the policies of the Right Wing Government leaders continued. Where the Communists were not presenting candidates, the Communist Party would support the Labour candidates.
