Elderly Mon Struck By Car
When he was struck by a car yesterday afternoon, Percival Harding, 73. a single man living at Whakapara, suffered concussion. The accident occurred when Mr Harding was walking from the Whakapara store to his home. He had just crossed the concrete bridge, north of the township, when a car, driven by Henry Earl Huston, of Mt Eden, Auckland, approached travelling north.
Mr Harding stooped down, apparently to piqjt something up, and, swinging round suddenly, was struck on the right temple by a mudguard. He was attended by Dr C. L. G. Cook, of Hikurangi, before being taken to the Whangarei Hospital, suffering from concussion. His condition was reported as satisfactory this morning. It is understood that Mr Harding has relatives living at Woodville.
