WELLINGTON.—The work of sealing the Ro-torua-Taupo road was proceeding as fast as finance would allow, said an official of the Main Highways Bparcl yesterday. Two contracts were let at present. one v for 12 wiles and the other for 13 miles. The board was hoping to have a continuous bitumen surface between Wairakei and •Turangi and ia further five miles from Reporoa to the briidge over the Waikato River. BONUS PALMERSTON NTH. —The frequency of accidents in which municipal buses are involved is causing the Palmerston North City Council concern. As an incentive to drivers to be more careful it has been decided to grant a weed's pay as* a bonus to sny driver who, from April I, 1949. to March 30, 3950 t/ , has a record clem' of mishaps. #
