(Sp.).—The payment of £30,000 as compensation to the Maori beneficiaries of lands in Taranaki, and the appointment of n special committee to assess their valuation for future rentals, is provided for in the West Coast Settlement Reserves Amendment Bill, which was introduced in the House of Representatives last night. The bill was read a second time pro forma and referred to the Maori Affairs Committee.
