Railways Lose Again
WELLINGTON, Tue. (Sp.).—-Railway services again operated at a loss foi the four weeks to October 16. according to the working account of the department. The total loss for the financial yeai to date now stands at £765.128, against a deficit last year of £942,975. All lines incurred losses during tire four-weekly period, miscellaneous services alone showing a profit. On railway operation, cxDendituic exceeded revenue by £111,900. compared with a deficit of £106,510 in the corresponding period last year. This was reduced by a profit o. £2O 941 earned by miscellaneous services, making a net loss for the period of £9O, 959.
