Atkinson, managing director of the Atco Welding and Forging Company, Wellington, left by air yesterday for Sydney. “I come from England and I am going to Hull where they make steel,” he said ‘‘l am going to see what some of my old school mates can do. “Controls are all right, but they are no good if you have to go down on your hands and knees for everything.” His firm wants more steel to fulfil a £35,000 contract to erect tanks for the British Petroleum Company of New Zealand in the Hutt Valley.
