CHRISTCHURCH. The demand for increase in the maximum permissible axle load was, in his opinion, only a passing phase, said the main highways engineer (Mr F. M. Hanson), at a sitting of the Main Highways Board m Christchurch yesterday. He believed that future multiple-axle vehicles or articulated trucks would solve the problems of .operators carrying big loads. * • •
