Some Vacancies In Carpentry School
Vacancies exist in the Whangarei rehabilitation carpentry school for a number of ex-servicemen who wish to enter the building trade. Since the inception of the scheme, which was designed to solve the problem of the building trade’s labour shortage while rehabilitating ex-ser-vicemen, many houses have been buiic by rehabilitation trainees under training- , , . Cn entering the school the trainees undertake four months in the workshop doing practical work, attending lectures and learning drawing and then go on to outside work on the block of houses which is being built in Moody’s Avenue. Several houses have been completed in this area by members of the first course who are all employed by local builders now that they have completed their two years’ course. Both returned and home servicemen are included in the courses on which they work, to all intents and purposes, as actual tradesmen doing each stage of the job and learning as they go.
