LONDON,r Fri. (11 a.m.)—The second week of the London November wool sales closed here today. New Zealand wools continued to meet strong competition from both the home trade and Continental buyers. Advances reported yesterday were fully confirmed and there was an excellent clearance.
The committee of London wool brokers issued the following range of quotations ruling on the floor for New Zealand wools: Fine half bred (58-56/58), super, 55d to 56d; good, 52d to 54d; average, 46d to 51d. Halfbred (50/56-56) super, 45d to 48d; good, 42d to 44 d; average, 38id to 41d. Fine Cross'Ered (50-48/50), good", 29Jd to 31Jd; average, 27d to 29d. Medium Crossbred (46-46/48), super, 28|d to 29|d; good, 28id to 282 d; average, 26Jd to 272 d. Fine Crossbreds Hogs (50/54), super, 44d to 48d; good, 41d to 43d: average, 36d to 440 d. First Crossbred Pieces, average to good, 22d to 25d. Crossbred Bellies, average to good, 20d to 24d.
DROWNED.—The body of Thomas William Pantall, 68, resident of Kopu, was found in the Thames River yesterday. He had not enjoyed good health for some years. He leaves a wife and: two sons.
