WELLINGTON.—The New Zealaiid Road Safety Council has decided that | the road speed limi’, outside special area- such 'as urban districts, should' be raised from the present 40* miles-an-hour to 5C| miles-an-hour for vehicles not covered by Jpecial conditions. ■ An ameiftnent proposing a nltriction of 40 miles-®-hour at night was lefct.
