PWD Depot May Be Built At Drgaville
Declaration of the Dargaville-Wai-poua-Ohaeawai main highway as a state highway, involving its complete maintenance and control by the state, created for the Public Works Department the need of establishing a works depot in Dargaville. The urgency of this step is bound up with Northern roading policy which has not yet been decided, it was stated by the department’s district engineer, Mr L. May, of Whangarei, yesterday. Should it be decided, when policy is laid down, that sealing is to be proceeded with in the near future a depot will become an immediate necessity, Mr May said.
