Three More Positive Paralysis Cases

Three more positive cases of infantile paralysis have been reported in the North Island, one in each of the South Auckland, Taranaki and Hawke’s Bay areas. The new South Auckland case is an infant aged 17 months who was admitted to the Waikato Hospital as a suspect on Tuesday. This is the 61st positive case reported in the district. A further suspect case, a boy aged five, was admitted to the hospital yesterday. The Taranaki case, the 23rd reported in the district, is a man aged 33 from Mangatoki. He has been admitted to the Hawera Hospital. The third case is a patient aged 18 who was admitted to the Napier Hospital from Taradale yesterday. No new cases have been reported in Northland or Auckland. NINTH AUCKLAND DEATH A woman from the Waiuku district, suffering from infantile paralysis, has died in Auckland Hospital. This is the ninth death from this disease in the Auckland Central Health District since the beginning of the epidemic.

There are now 44 positive cases in Auckland Hospital.
