An announcement that the Union Steam Ship Co. might order a fruit-carrying vessel accommodating 100 firstclass passengers for the service from New Zealand to Fiji, Samoa and Tonga, has been made in London by Mr J. N. Greenland, the company’s managing director. The company announced last August that plans were being prepared for the ship, which would be similar to the 4193-ton Matua. Mr Greenland said the company was considering ordering from British yards an additional ;wo or three 6000-ron cargo ships for the Tasnan service. « » •
