PARLIAMENT TO SIT ATT END OF JUNE ? ~

WELLINGTON. Wed. (Sp.l—A proclamation by the Governor-General (Sir Bernard Freyberg) further prorogues the meeting of Parliament to June 3, when, according to this notice, members will be required “to take into consideration rhe state and welfare of ‘the Dominion and therein to do as may -seem necessary.’’

This is an unusual phrase when* there is an intention to make a further extension of the recess as the final proclamation requests members to meet for the transaction of business.

It is therefore evident that the Gov* eminent plans to open the session towards the end of June.
