Mr 6c Pinckney GORE, Mon. (P.A.).—The death has occurred of Mr George Pinckney, of Glenary Station, Waikaia, at the age of 85 years. I Born in England, Mr Pinckney took j fiver Glenary in 1898, the station be- j ing subsequently developed to the : third largest in New Zealand. The carrying capacity of the station: increased to 30.000 sheep. j Mr Pinckney is survived by his j wife, formerly Miss Edith Tripp, of Orari Gorge, nine of a family, 20 grandchildren, and one great grand-1 child. Mr Gazzgsrd The death has occurred in the Palm- j erston North Hospital of Mr N. A. L. j Gazzard, of Whangarei. ! Mr Gazzard was 78 years of age. He j had gone to Palmerston North on holi- j day when he was taken suddenly ill : and admitted to the hospital, where a ; minor operation was performed. j ' He appeared to rally after the oper- i ation but later collapsed and died. 1 j Mr Gazzard was well known ; throughout the North as a commercial j traveller for a firm of wholesale chcm- i ists. I He was a member of the Whangarei j Bowling Club for many years and sec- j retary until two years ago. He was j also a life member of the club.
