Nof Engaged, Michael Says
LAUSANNE, Wed. (10 a.m.)—King Michael, of Rumania, has denied that he is engaged to Princess Anne de Bourbon Parma. “There is absolutely nothing in it,” he said. “I have heard this story everywhere. “Everybody knows more about it than I.” Earlier it was reported that the engagement would probably be announced in the week after the Rumanian Government gave approval. One of the King's secretaries told the Daily Mirror last night by Continental telephone: "We cannot announce the engagement officially until the Government has been consulted. It is absolutely essential to get its agreement first, but we do not expect any difficulties.” King Michael and the Princess are at present staying at Lausanne, where they arrived a few days ago after attending the Royal wedding in London. The Princess will remain at Lausanne after King Michael flies to Bucharest at the week-end.
