Arabs armed with tommy-guns and torches set alight to a Jewish-owned timber yard near oil tanks on the outskirts of Haifa tonight, reports Reuters Jei’usalem correspondent. All district fire brigades fought the flames. Haganah went into action against the Arabs who attacked the timber yard and a gun-battle ensued. Arabs armed with automatic weapons attacked the Yarlcon River electrical power station in Tel Aviv, according to Reuters Jerusalem correspondent.
