Cor Over Bank, Driver Killed
(P.A.) DANNEVIRKE, This Day. Failing to negotiate a deceptive bend between Terehunga and the main road, a car containing four youths from Palmerston North rolled down a bank, the driver, Russell Joseph Johnston, 17, receiving injuries from which he died. The other occupants were thrown clear and escaped with minor injuries. DEERSTALKER SHOT While deerstalking i.» Tararua foothills, near Kaituna, Graham Francis Rowen Hume, 24, single, of 81 Awa Road, Miramar, Wellington, slipped in going over rough ground and, when his rifle accidentally discharged, he received a shot near the armpit from which he died last night. The accident occurred about 6.45 last night and when Dr Cook reached Hume about 10.40 o’clock he was dead. Hume was accompanied by a companion.
