FAT COWS
The. much-discussed experimental Kapiro block at Waipapa was mentioned by Mr H. K. Hatrick, Labour candidate for Hobson, in his Paihia address. He had stood there, he said, with a Minister of Lands, who was being asked for the necessary grants to experiment with those lands. There were miles of them—beautiful rolling uplands stretching from Kaeo and Okaihau to Waipapa and on to Kerikeri. He had dseen that block again that day. “I saw there today a herd of cows. They were lying down at 9.30 in the morning—so full of grass that they couldn’t stand up!!” Whatever the cows were doing, Mr Hatrick is right the experimental Waipapa farm is carrying a wonderful pasture just now.
