Baby In Parcel, Is Still Alive
(P.A.) DUNEDIN. This Day. Wrapped in newspaper and some clothing a newly-born male child was found in the women's waiting room of the Oamaru railway station at 2 p.m. on Saturday. When the parcel was unwrapped it was found that the baby was alive. A doctor was called and the baby was sent to a hospital where he is making satisfactory progress. The mother of the baby was later located on the southbound express which left Oamaru in the early afternoon. She is at present in the Dunedin Hospital.
